The Green Cemetery Project Winnipeg and Return to the Earth Green Burial Coop invite you to Reclaiming Death ā€“ A Community Conversation. Death is often seen as a forbidden topic, even though it is something we will all some day experience. Death is shrouded in mystery, but it does not have to be. The Reclaiming Death one day event is an opportunity to talk openly about this topic, ask questions and learn practical information. We want to help people find the tools they need to make this vulnerable time in life easier.

The morning theme of this conference focuses on preparing for your own death, looking at practical, medical, philosophical, social and legal aspects. There will be a review of what local and environmentally conscious options may be available. The afternoon theme will be on reimagining deathcare and sacred moments surrounding death. There will be a video on home funerals and green burial. Some of the talks will explore how and whether we could become more involved in the deathcare of our loved ones.
